Inaugural National Skills Competition
The Kingdom of Eswatini held its first-ever national skills competition in February 2025 and the competition was limited to three skills areas namely Cooking, Welding technology and Automobile technology. For more read : 2025 National Champions
Registration with WorldSkills Africa & WorldSkills International
The Government of His Majesty King Mswati III is very committed in skills development in the Kindom and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security is therefore working around the clock to ensure the country is fully registered with the two bodies and become an active member in the WorldSkills competitions. International and Regional Support
The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) through its Workforce Development Agency (WDA) had held the country by the hand towards hosting its first-ever national skills competitions. The WDA working with the Chinese Taipei team first invited the local chief experts to Taiwan to witness their national competition and later came to the Kingdom to assess its readiness to host the competition. The WDA and Chinese Taipei team came back to the Kingom to train the local experts on set up and assessment in the competition and they were in the Kingom throughout the competitions. The Taiwan Technical Mission, in Eswatini, had earlier invited experts from WorldSkills Namibia to capacitate the local expert team on skills competitions. The local national skills steering commitee had also been sent to the Republic of South Africa to observe the national and provincial skills competions to have better understanding about conducting them in the Kingdom.
